Ofsted and Awards
Table Hall was judged 'Good' by Ofsted in September 2013.
Below are a few of their comments;
"The nursery plans a broad educational programme to support children's learning and to promote their early skills to a good level. Staff support children in taking part in new experiences to develop and extend their learning.
The well-resourced nursery and outside play areas enable children to make choices about their play. The experienced staff team have a good understanding of how children learn through play.
The leadership and management of the nursery is strong. Robust recruitment and appropriate staff supervision ensure staff are suitable to work with children. The staff team work well together; they are deployed appropriately to ensure they meet the needs of all children."
In April 2014 Table Hall was awarded with the Hertfordshire Quality Standards. Here's what the assessor said;
"An inspirational leader who has empowered her staff team to continually drive practice forward."
HQS is a county led quality improvement scheme which supports childcare and early education providers to improve and develop their practice through a process of supported self evaluation. Hertfordshire is a high achieving authority and HQS is an indication to parents and guardians that settings are committed to being high achieving themselves. - See more here.
How does it work?
- Childcare providers are asked to consider their current practices and look at ways to continue to improve and develop. This can include enabling staff to do additional training
- The scheme is supported by external mentors who help the childcare provider through the HQS process
- Following an external assessment, successful providers are awarded with the HQS blue balloon kitemark. This award lasts for 3 years.
